An intimate evening at Katie Kime’s Round Top ranch brought together more than 40 guests to celebrate a new collaboration, the power of community, and a mission to help end childhood hunger.

There’s something about Round Top that brings people together. Maybe it’s the slower pace, the conversations that happen around a dinner table, or the way a shared love of beautiful things can turn into something much more meaningful.

On Wednesday, October 28, designer Katie Kime and FEED founder Lauren Bush Lauren welcomed more than 40 guests to Kime’s ranch in Round Top, Texas, for an intimate evening celebrating their latest collaboration and what can happen when a community gathers for good.

The occasion? The debut of the limited-edition FEED x Katie Kime Round Top Tote, a design inspired by our favorite little Texas town that also gives back to families in need.

Co-hosted by Katie Kime, Lauren Bush Lauren, Joey Wölffer, Jennifer Welch, Lauren Smith Ford, and Tracey Marshall, the evening brought together friends, designers, and tastemakers for a family-style dinner centered on community, creativity, and a shared commitment to fighting childhood hunger.

A Little Round Top, a Lot of Heart

For those familiar with Katie Kime’s playful approach to design, it should come as no surprise that the setting was every bit as thoughtful as the occasion.

Her signature Round Top city toile was woven throughout the evening, appearing on everything from tablecloths and napkins to cocktail napkins and ice buckets. The print, inspired by the people, places, and personality of Round Top, offered a fitting backdrop for a gathering celebrating the town itself.

Guests also had the opportunity to personalize Katie Kime Oxford shirts at a custom monogramming station, adding a little something to take home from the evening.

Planned and produced by Cassie LaMere Events, the dinner unfolded around beautifully appointed family-style tables with florals by Head West Floral. Local drinks, live music, and a menu prepared by a talented culinary team completed the evening.

But beyond the beautiful tablescapes and thoughtful details, the real story was the reason everyone had gathered.

A Tote That Gives Back

The Round Top Tote marks the fourth design in the ongoing partnership between FEED and Katie Kime, following collections inspired by the Hamptons, New York City, and Florida.

Each edition takes inspiration from a particular destination, translating its personality into a collectible design while giving back to the communities that inspire it.

For the latest release, the spotlight turns to Round Top.

Retailing for $115, the limited-edition tote is a souvenir from a favorite Texas destination that gives back. Each purchase helps provide five meals through the Central Texas Food Bank, an organization that works with more than 250 nonprofit community partners, mobile food distributions, and school pantry programs to connect Central Texans with nutritious food.

It’s a meaningful way to bring a little piece of Round Top home while supporting families across Texas.

Lauren Bush Lauren and the Story Behind FEED

For Lauren Bush Lauren, the mission is deeply personal.

Speaking to guests gathered around the dinner table, Lauren reflected on the experiences that first inspired her to launch FEED nearly two decades ago.

As a college student traveling internationally, she witnessed the realities of childhood hunger and began to understand how something as fundamental as a school meal could change the course of a child’s life.

For many children, she explained, a nutritious meal can be the very reason they attend school and continue their education.

That realization became the foundation for FEED, which Lauren founded in 2007. To date, the organization reports having helped provide more than 128 million school meals.

But as Lauren shared with guests, childhood hunger isn’t an issue confined to communities halfway around the world.

“One in five kids currently live in food insecure households,” she told the room, describing the difficult choices families face when balancing rent, medical bills, school expenses, and putting food on the table.

And the goal is food that’s actually nutritious.

Lauren also spoke about FEED’s work with organizations such as Eat Real, which focuses on improving the quality of school meals and helping children access healthier food.

For Lauren, the work remains as important today as it was when she first began.

“There’s so much more to be done,” she told guests, reflecting on the uncertainty and rapidly changing circumstances facing families.

A Homecoming with a Purpose

There was another personal connection to the evening: Lauren Bush Lauren’s Texas roots.

Originally from Houston, Lauren described the gathering as a homecoming of sorts, sharing her affection for the city and the state.

“This feels like a real homecoming,” she told guests.

She also expressed her gratitude to Katie for opening her ranch and to the team who brought the evening together, acknowledging the significance of guests choosing to spend their time supporting FEED during one of Round Top’s busiest weeks.

For Katie Kime, whose Austin-based lifestyle brand has built a following around original prints, color, and the art of storytelling, the collaboration feels like a natural extension of her work.

Founded in 2013, her namesake brand has long drawn inspiration from travel, culture, and the places that shape our lives. Round Top, with its unmistakable personality and creative community, is particularly well suited to that approach.

The collaboration brings together two women whose brands have found ways to turn creativity into connection, and in this case, a tangible impact for families.

An Evening Made Possible by Many

The gathering was planned and produced by Cassie LaMere Events, with florals by Head West Floral and event rentals from NOMA, Peak Events by KRD, and Bright Event Rentals.

The culinary and hospitality experience featured Tivity, Chef Page Pressley, and Mill Scale, with beverages from Wölffer Estate, LALO Tequila, and Athletic Brewing Co.

Photographer Collin Findlay captured the evening.

As the dinner came to a close, Lauren reflected on the importance of everyone doing their part, whether through purchasing a tote, learning more about FEED, or simply showing up to support the cause.

“I feel so blessed to be able to do my part,” she shared, before reminding guests that by being there, they were doing theirs, too.

And perhaps the most meaningful detail of the evening? A significant portion of the proceeds raised will stay local, supporting the Central Texas Food Bank and its work to help families access nutritious food.

For Lauren, who grew up in Houston, keeping part of the evening’s impact in Texas was especially important.

It’s a reminder that while Round Top brings people together from all over, the impact of gathering for good can be felt right here at home.
