The First Timer’s Guide to Round Top

If you have never been to Round Top, the best way to think about it is not as a single destination but as one with lots of stops, almost like a subway, where when you see something worth stopping outside your window, turn right on in.

Fields turn into markets. Tents become storefronts. A morning plan can easily turn into a full day of wandering.

Start early. Most venues open at 9am. The crowds are thinner, which makes it easier to navigate not only the roads, and parking, but also your able to see more in booths when it feels less crowded. Comfortable shoes are not optional. You will walk more than you expect and discover things you did not plan for.

Come with a loose idea of what you are looking for, but leave space for surprises. We always say let your eyes be the guide. The best finds are rarely the ones you set out to buy, but the ones that find you along the way.

Cash helps. So does being ready to say yes when something feels right. If you leave it behind, it might not be there when you come back.

Most importantly, give yourself time. Round Top is not meant to be rushed.
