There are pieces you walk past at Round Top, and then there are the ones that quietly hold a story.
At first glance, we loved the western graphics and warm patina, they felt like something from an old John Wayne movie just gracing the bottom shelf in the West Place. After chatting with Cody and Lauren Medina of The West Place, we learned the collection included a rare labeled sauce pots, one of those small details collectors immediately notice.
Many enamelware sets lose specialty serving pieces over time. Labeled pieces, such as sauce pots, were often produced in smaller quantities and are much harder to find today.
The combination of western imagery, practical function, and surviving specialty pieces makes collections like this especially appealing to collectors.
We love finds that tell a story.
This collection feels like a snapshot of the American West with functional pieces designed for everyday life, now appreciated for their craftsmanship, character, and nostalgia.
It’s exactly the kind of treasure that reminds us why we keep hunting and the value of building relationships with those keeping the Round Top magic alive, because there is such magic when asking more about the story behind a piece.
