Some people need a break from Round Top. Elizabeth Leaman is not one of them.

“I never EVER need a break or grow weary from shopping which is why Round Top is my paradise.”

For the founder of Lady Lancaster, shopping is more than a pastime. It’s a love affair with vintage clothing, rare antique textiles, slow fashion and the stories behind the things we bring home.

Her Round Top itinerary reflects exactly that. Think historically significant quilts, carefully curated antique booths, vintage fashion and a lunch order she already knows by heart.

Of course, Leaman isn’t just shopping the show. She’s also welcoming shoppers into her own Lady Lancaster boutique, where slow fashion and a well-stocked bar make a compelling case for staying awhile.

We asked Leaman to share the stops she never skips, the pieces she’s always hunting for and the one thing she’s found in Round Top that can’t be bought.

The Three Stops She Never Misses

For Leaman, a successful Round Top day starts with knowing where to find the good stuff, particularly when it comes to textiles.

1. Big Red Barn

“VIP Big Red Barn for their period antiques, historically best antique quilts, and antique textile selection in Round Top.”

For shoppers who appreciate the craftsmanship and history of antique textiles, this is one of her essential stops.

2. Marburger Farm

“VIP Marburger for the one-stop shop of highly curated booths, great textiles and the overall vibe and scene. It’s a full on fashion parade.”

Come for the antiques. Stay for the people-watching. Marburger’s mix of carefully curated dealers and personal style makes it a favorite for Leaman.

3. The Horseshoe

“Horseshoe for the vintage clothing, slow-fashion, and art.”

With vintage fashion high on her shopping list, it’s no surprise that The Horseshoe rounds out her top three.

The Hunt: Vintage Clothing and Rare Antique Textiles

Ask Leaman what she’s always searching for, and her answer is refreshingly straightforward.

“Vintage clothing and rare antique textiles.”

She’s also a self-described cowboy hat collector, constantly looking for pieces that can be styled into her photoshoots and personal wardrobe.

One discovery from the spring show has already turned into something more.

“I am a massive cowboy hat collector and I am always looking for new items throughout the year to style for my photoshoots. @ShopZandria in Arbors was my favorite find this past spring show. I loved her vibe and creativity so much that we will be offering an exclusive collaboration in my personal boutique this show.”

It’s the kind of Round Top story we love. A chance encounter with a creative becomes a collaboration, proving that sometimes the best discoveries are the people behind the pieces.

What’s for Lunch?

Even the most dedicated shopper has to eat.

For Leaman, there’s no debate.

“Hands down Simply D’lish for the Chicken Crunch Salad and Puppy chow. They can be found at the Horseshoe or Marburger.”

Consider your lunch order decided.

Happy Hour, Lady Lancaster Style

When it’s time for a cocktail, Leaman doesn’t have to go far.

“The Lady Lancaster bar in my boutique! Our bar is proudly sponsored by Ranch2O, a Dallas-based and women-owned beverage company. It is hands down the best and healthiest cocktail in can. It is exclusively found in our bar in Round Top!”

The boutique brings together her love of slow fashion and the social side of Round Top, giving shoppers another reason to linger.

Her Shopping Philosophy? Pounce.

There’s no waiting around when Leaman spots something she loves.

Asked what shoppers should buy immediately rather than think about, her response was emphatic.

“EVERYTHING! It is so rare to be able to meet the Makers and beautiful souls behind each purchase. When you see something you love, pounce! As Vince Lombardi often said “Leave no regrets on the field”

While we might not advocate buying literally everything, the sentiment feels particularly appropriate for Round Top.

The antique quilt, the one-of-a-kind jacket, the vintage piece you can’t stop thinking about? There’s a good chance you won’t find another exactly like it.

The Best Thing She’s Ever Found in Round Top

For someone who spends so much time hunting for rare textiles and vintage fashion, you might expect Leaman’s favorite find to be something extraordinary she brought home.

Instead, her answer has nothing to do with antiques.

“Some of my best friendships have been found and made in Round Top!”

It’s a reminder that for all the beautiful things that change hands during the show, the relationships formed along the way are often what bring people back season after season.
