While the Fall and Spring antique shows draw thousands to this tiny Texas town, some of the area’s most beloved shops, galleries, antique stores, and design destinations remain open long after the tents come down. In fact, there’s a strong case to be made that shopping Round Top in the off-season deserves a day trip all it's own.
The crowds disappear. Parking becomes effortless. Shop owners have time to share stories. Instead of racing through hundreds of booths, you can slow down and discover what makes this slice of Texas so special.
Whether you’re hunting for European antiques, western fashion, original art, or the perfect piece for your home, here’s your guide to shopping Round Top and beyond year-round. What we have also found is you shouldn't limit yourself to just Round Top, we have scored in Brenham and La Grange with Round Top vendors with spaces open year round.
Round Top operates on its own schedule.
Many stores keep seasonal hours and are most reliably open Thursday through Saturday. Before making the drive, check online or call ahead.
Round Top Finds Tip: Plan your trip Thursday, Friday, or Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for the best chance of finding the highest concentration of businesses open. If you get to town early, our favorite coffee shop is Mill Street Cafe. The iced Blueberry Muffin latte has become a staple in our Round Top diet.
If you’re visiting with a group, we always recommend starting in Henkel Square. Considered the heart of Round Top, it’s home to many of the shops listed below and offers an easy way to spend an afternoon exploring on foot. Beyond Henkel Square, you’ll find incredible shopping destinations scattered throughout town to hidden gems tucked along the countryside roads. And of course, no Round Top trip is complete without a stop at Junk Gypsy.
